RESISTANT PATRIOT MEDAL TO OCCUPANCY OF DEPARTMENTS OF THE RHINE AND THE MOSELLE :

  HISTORIC :  

" The Republic French, considering patriotism, courage and the, sufferings of the Alsatians and Of Lorraine, proscribed and constrained to residence forced in hostile country, because of their attachment to France, tilt before them and their families, proclaim and determine, in accordance with the arrangements of the present decree, their rights and those of their having reason ".

Such is the text of the article 1st of the decree of structural December 1954 27 statute of the proscribed and constrained patriot to forced residence in hostile country, taken on the initiative of Jean Masson (former fighter minister and victims of war).

The article 9 of the text institutes a medal with ribbon said " medal of the proscribed and constrained patriot to forced residence in hostile " country.

An ulterior decree before to define the model of it. January 31, 1955, a decree specifies the conditions to unite for to benefit from the title and card correspondents.

Some years after, August 29, 1959, has been instituted the present medal (decree modifying arrangements of December 27, 1954).

The medal of the patriots resisting the occupation of the departments of the Rhine and of the Moselle, 1939/1945, thus created, saw its definite features by another decree of September 17, 1959, modifying arrangements previous of January 31, 1955.

 

  RECIPIENTS & CONDITION OF OBTAINING :  

The people who resisted the occupation of the departments of the Rhine and of the Moselle and that, of this fact, were victims of the politics of Germanization led by the enemy during the war of 1939/1945.

The interested must have been stopped and constrained to leave the territory national to be interned in camps supervised in hostile country or some foreign territory occupied by the enemy under the condition that the residence forced lasted at least during three months.

CONDITION OF OBTAINING :

The demands established by the French inhabitant the High Rhine, the Low Rhine or the Moselle in order to get the profit of the patriot's statute resistant to the occupation of these departments must be addressed to the service departmental of the former fighters of their legal domicile.

The recognition of this statute, materialized by the deliverance of a card, drag, the right to carry the medal.

 

  THE DISTINCTION :  

• Ribbon:
  of 36 mm of large made of green silk, shared in his/her/its middle by one strip crotchet and edged on all sides, of a tricolor edging, white bruise, left red, blue white red on the right.

• Medal:
  conform to the model established by engraver Georges Giraud. She/it is in bronze, round, structural to the obverse a Republic, to cap, phrygian, stingy eastward, framed of a branch of laurel and the words " Republic French ".

The holders of the card of the proscribed and constrained patriot to residence forced in hostile country, delivered before the reform of 1959, are allowed to to carry the medal of the patriots resistant to the occupation of the departments of the Rhine and the Moselle, 1939/1945.

People filling the conditions required by the statutes of the deported and internees of the Resistance, of the fighters voluntary of the, Resistance, of the deportees either political internees or of the recalcitrant, can to opt for one the statutes without losing the clean arrangement profit to the resistant patriots.

They won't be able to accumulate some advantages distinct for the same period of constraint to forced resistance.

A recalcitrant patriot title exists to the annexation of fact " assigned to all French of the departments of the Low Rhine, the High Rhine and the Moselle, outcast by the German authorities or that, sheltered in a department of the inside, refused to join his/her/its domicile during the war of 1939/1945.
